Determine how many plants of each type to plant per square foot, and the plants’ height (short, medium, or tall). Make a list of all the things you want to grow. We show you why and how to make this possible, as well as determining the ideal vegetable garden size you need for your particular situation. As a general rule of thumb, you need anywhere from 100-200 square feet of growing space per person you intend on feeding. However you find it easiest to plan your garden. Fill it out with words, little veggie sketches, or just dots to represent each plant.
